Side wall before repairs

Today construction workers from Technobrique Inc, a CAA recommended company, installed scaffolding around the building, signaling the start of major brickwork on the house. They will be removing all the bricks from the rear and side of the house, installing insulation and then new clay bricks.

We bought the house knowing that “some” work to the bricks was needed. This spring, when pieces of bricks and mortar started falling, we realised it was a big problem. There was a danger that with all the rain we’ve been having, that the bricks on side wall would tumble.

We were given the option of bracing the wall with steel plates but this would have been a temporary solution to buy us 2 or 3 more years before having to do the full repair.
